Learn to XCode
There are several things I want to accomplish in life and one of them is to learn a programming language for Mac’s. In theory, it shouldn’t be that difficult, coming from a Visual Basic 6 and .net background, I can apply what I know and learn the rest.
How I’m starting out
- Downloaded/installed XCode
- Bought some books
- Now I just need the spare time
I actually bought three books on XCode and programming for the Mac, some show really good examples, some just provide code, and others are meant to be used as a reference manual. I haven’t been able to sit down and make it through a book; it is tougher than I thought to teach yourself another language. I do have SOME motivation.
Today, while going through my blogs, I found an interesting post on OSXDaily.com about learning Cocoa. The tutorials are very well written and give anyone a quick intro to Cocoa.
Books:
Cocoa(R) Programming for Mac(R) OS X (2nd Edition)
Step into Xcode: Mac OS X Development (Paperback)
Beginning Mac OSX Programming (Paperback)
